My Target visitor badge!!!The first day is full of design studio tours around Minneapolis. I was in the group that went to Target, Cue Design, and Ham in the Fridge. Every one of them was awesome! It's such a fun opportunity to see how such successful design studios work and what their environment is like.
The next day was full of student portfolio reviews. This is the first year I've actually had a book put together and I got such great feedback and advice and ideas. They also had different workshops happening throughout the day. I went to one about how to act during interviews and how to put together a good portfolio.
If you ever have a chance to go to this.. GO! I got dozens of connections out of this. I highly recommend it!
Then, when the event was over, I had the chance to go to IKEA! What an amazing store.. I got some knick knacks and some great fabric so I can sew a case for my portfolio book .
I feel so inspired and recharged from the weekend. This Thursday I get to go to a smaller but similar event in Appleton, WI called "Student vs. World" portfolio review. Can't wait!
